Therapy

Introduction

I believe that stories, mindfulness, and imagination can help us heal. Alongside my work as a writer and educator, I am also a trained and accredited Breathworks Mindfulness Teacher and a Human Givens therapist-in-training, integrating evidence-based psychological approaches with creative and compassionate practice.

My Qualifications

Breathworks Mindfulness Teacher (Accredited)

I trained and gained full accreditation with Breathworks Mindfulness, an internationally respected organisation founded by Vidyamala Burch. The Breathworks approach is grounded in modern psychology and ancient mindfulness traditions. It focuses on helping people manage pain, stress, and difficult emotions with awareness, kindness, and balance.

As an accredited teacher, I have delivered mindfulness courses and one-to-one sessions that help people cultivate resilience, self-compassion, and calm attention in daily life.

Human Givens Therapy

I have also completed Part 2 of the Human Givens Diploma. The Human Givens approach is a practical, integrative model of psychotherapy that draws on the latest findings in neuroscience, psychology, and emotional wellbeing.

It focuses on helping people meet their innate emotional needs — for security, meaning, connection, and autonomy — using the powerful innate resources we all possess, such as imagination, memory, and pattern-recognition. This approach is brief, solution-focused, and deeply humane, helping people move towards balance and fulfilment.

Next Steps: Supervised Practice

I am now preparing to complete Part 3 of the Human Givens Diploma, which involves working with clients under supervision. This means I will soon be offering free therapy sessions as part of my supervised practice.

All sessions will be supervised by a fully accredited Human Givens practitioner, listed on the Human Givens Accredited Register. This ensures clients receive safe, ethical, and professionally guided support.

My Approach

My work blends mindfulness, Human Givens principles, and creative storytelling. I aim to create a calm, confidential space where clients can:
